The 27-year-old has been linked with a summer transfer move to join Los Blancos once this season is over – reasons he is stalling to sign contract extension at the club.
However, the Blues are preparing to give the attacker a whopping sum of £300,000-a-week to keep him at the Stamford Bridge beyond this season.
Meanwhile, the one-time UEFA Champions League winners are plotting to to reject Real’s £87 million proposed bid according to the Sun.
Hazard is one of the top earners at the London club with a weekly wage of £200,000-a-week; while his current contract is due to expire in the summer of 2020.
The Belgian star joined Chelsea from Lille in 2012 in a deal worth £31.50 million, and he seems comfortable at the club, yet admitting he would love to play as well as their manager, Zinedine Zidane anytime soon.
In the other news, manager Antonio Conte might quit the Stamford Bridge this summer owing to the row he had with the club’s management earlier in the season.
A decision that could leave Hazard could in no-man’s land as he once again waits to discover who his new manager will be and what role he’ll be taking up in the new system.
Real could likely pay the same wages on offer at Chelsea, although they may have to offload a couple of players beforehand, but majority of the decision rests on the player involved.
Hazard was key to Chelsea’s Premier League triumph last season, while he will lead his Belgian teammates to this summer’s FIFA World Cup tournament staging in Russia.
He has scored 10 English topflight goals in 27 appearances this term, while his goal tally for the season stands at 14 in all competitions.
